Award Description
An academic scholarship of $500 will be awarded by NursingExams.org to increase access to the college education necessary to become a nurse.

Selection & Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship selection committee will review applicants' academic achievements and extracurricular engagements to determine the award winner. Financial circumstances will not be considered in this determination. To be eligible for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Should be planning on becoming a nurse
- Must be enrolled, or accepted, at an accredited school
- Continuing their studies in the upcoming academic year
- Have at least 30 semester or 45 quarter degree hours remaining
- Agree to provide NursingExams.org with a digital photograph and quote to be displayed on the site should they receive the award
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold Permanent U.S. Resident Status
Graduating high school seniors are welcome to apply if they have been accepted on an undergraduate course and meet all the above criteria.
Funds
After the application deadline has passed, the scholarship winner will be contacted by the selection committee and will obtain an award of $500, to the permanent address listed in their application, in the form of a check.
Note: If an individual's total academic award prizes exceed $600 in a one-year period, the IRS will issue form 1099 (or equivalent). Consequently, certain personal information will need to be provided to NursingExams.org before scholarship funds can be received by the winner.

The demand for nurses is growing in the U.S., so there are many opportunities for career progression once qualified. To become a licensed nurse, individuals need to obtain a college degree and pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) Nursing Exam. Many nursing schools also require an entrance exam like HESI or TEAS before securing a place on a nursing program.
