How to Register for the TEAS Test

There are four ways to take the TEAS test: online- proctored by ATI or proctored by an institution, and in-person- proctored by an institution or by PSI. Test takers need to check with the institution they are applying to and verify which test administration methods are accepted. Below is a guide on how to register for the TEAS exam.

Online TEAS Exam Registration

For TEAS test registration, test takers can go to the ATI testing webpage for the TEAS test and click "Register Now." Test takers are then prompted to choose "In-Person" or "Remote Online" for the proctoring method. Test takers can click that button from the prompt to register to take a TEAS test online. Test takers are then asked to choose between nursing and allied health and between ATI remote proctoring and institution remote proctoring. After test takers have selected the options that align with their goals, they can choose a date range using the calendar tool. It is important to note that online exams are booked out two months in advance. Once you find a date and time that works for you, click select and read through the detailed information about computer requirements and test-day expectations. Also, be sure to note any additional transcripts that are necessary on this form and then click continue registration. TEAS test sign-up occurs once a test taker pays for this selected exam time. All online exams are $115.

In-Person TEAS Exam Registration

Registration for an in-person TEAS exam starts the same as the online exams- go to the ATI testing webpage, select 'Register Now,' and select 'In-Person' as the proctoring method. For all ATI TEAS test registrations, test takers can select their test and location. First, test takers need to find a PSI exam location using ATI's tool for PSI proctored tests. Once test takers know their testing location they can type in the city or the institution hosting the exam, along with the exam they wish to take (Nursing or Allied Health). Next, test takers select a date and time that works for them at their location. Test takers are then taken to a page with exam policies and test-day information. After reading through that page, test takers can click continue registration. The exam is not booked until after paying for the exam. In-person TEAS exams can cost anywhere between $45 and $115 depending on the institution hosting the exam.

How to Schedule a TEAS Test

Test takers can schedule a TEAS test during the registration process. ATI provides a shop tool to assist test takers in finding TEAS test dates. Test takers must check their university's admission policies to ensure that the chosen TEAS exam date, time, and location work with their goals. ATI is booking online exams two months in advance. Some in-person exams are booked up to 6 months in advance. However, test takers need to check with their institution for exact dates.

Can I Reschedule/Retake the TEAS Test?

Once a TEAS test is purchased, test takers cannot reschedule the exam. Therefore, test takers must know their school's policies and application deadlines before registering. It is possible to retake the TEAS test, but many institutions require a 30 day waiting period before a retake and only allow three retakes a year. So, test takers need to verify their school's policies.

What Is the TEAS Transcript?

A TEAS transcript is the official version of a test takers score report for applying to universities. For all test takers, one transcript is included in the cost of the exam. It is important to note that for in-person exams, the transcript of the test taker is automatically sent to the institution hosting the exam. Online test takers can send their included transcript to the institution of their choice. It is also possible to purchase additional transcript credits to send scores to other institutions for $27 each. If a student has taken the TEAS exam more than once, ATI will note that on the transcript. Online test takers can access their score report immediately after completing the exam, while in-person ATI test takers will receive their score report within 24 hours. For exams taken at a PSI exam location, it may take up to 72 business hours to receive scores. Test takers can access score reports on the ATI student account under the "my results" page. Universities differ in the length of time scores are considered valid. For some schools, it is one year, others two years, and others five years. It is important to check with your institution to find accurate information for your goals.
